Common Questions

Well, you already have the basics – service times and contact info for our church.

Now we would like to answer some other common questions visitors may have about our church (like what’s the dress code, etc).

However, before we do that,  let us cover some questions our members & visitors may have about our church re-opening process and covid-19 concerns:

Church Re-Opening & Covid-19

First we recommend that you listen to the “Return to Church Reopening Guide” prepared by AEC Administration. This should answer most of your “Church Reopening” concerns.

AEC Phase II Church Reopening in Effect

  • Submit Request. As of March 1st, pastors could now make a request from Administration to open the church facility for a single church service.
  • Complete Reopening Checklist. Churches are required to have completed all of the items in AEC’s reopening guidelines as part of the application process.
  • Thorough Cleaning. As part of the required guidelines, churches must go through a deep cleaning before receiving final Administration approval.

Please note that Covid-19 responses override any common question responses below while in Reopening Phase II+.

If you have a specific question that is not covered in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) below, then feel free to contact us.  Just click the “contact us” link below or from the menu and submit your question.  We’ll be happy to respond!

See you soon!

Dress Code

You’re invited to come as you are, whether it’s a suit or jeans you feel most comfortable wearing.  The SDA church does not have an explicit dress code.  All are welcome.

How long is the service?

Normally the divine worship service is 90 minutes to 2 hours long.  The service starts at 11:30am and is usually out by 1:15pm. (Of course it is not uncommon for service to wrap up at 1:30pm)

Where do I sit?

You’ll be greeted by our smiling greeters and ushers once you come through our front doors. Once inside the main sanctuary, ushers will try to find adjacent seats for you and your family, if possible, and escort you to your seat.  Limited seating is also available in the balcony.

What to expect in the service

The worship service lasts about 90 minutes and includes singing from soloists, our praise team and by the congregation lead by the  praise team.  The service also includes scripture reading, prayer, and a gospel-centered message from the Bible. The music is most often a mix of hymns and modern worship songs

Where to park?

Unfortunately, all parking is on the street parking.  Since it is difficult to find parking, we suggest you try to come 30 minutes earlier. Late-comers will have a difficult time finding street parking close to the church.  Drivers should be aware of parking signs to avoid tickets.

Where are the restrooms?

Restrooms are located in the basement at the foot of the stairs. Mens room is the first door on the left and the womens restroom is the first door on the right.

Are there programs for my kids?

Yes. A First Church, kids experience safe, age-appropriate, gospel-centered lessons and activities where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. We offer programs for kids from birth through high school. We have our kids and youth classes every Saturday at 10:00am.  We also have Adventist Youth group which meets on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 pm. We also have an active youth group active called the Pathfinders/Adventurers that engages in activities that are similar to the Boy/Girl scouts that meets on Sunday mornings.

When do I need to get there?

It’s a good idea to arrive at least 30 minutes early because our Sabbath service tend to fill up quickly.  We are outgrowing our church and oftentimes we struggle to seat everyone comfortably. Targeting an early arrival for Divine service, will ensure that you have less headache in finding a parking spot and being seated together in the sanctuary with your family.
