Who We Are

The Grace Pointe Seventh-day Adventist Church is a loving, Christ-centered church, committed to serving the community and sharing the blessed hope of Jesus Christ.

We are individuals from different walks of life who share a common experience;  we encountered the overwhelming love and truth of Jesus and it has changed our life’s perspective.  We are at different levels in our faith and understanding of His Word, but we strive to know him better and desire to reflect his perfect character.  Ultimately, we recognize that our vertical relationship with God cannot truly grow without a horizontal relationship with our fellow man.  Relationships matter, and it is within the realization of this commonality that we have defined our church’s mission and vision statement.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and to help all who come to our fellowship grow into discipleship, reflecting the Divine Character of faith, hope and love.

Vision Statement

To build a center which emphasizes fellowship, bible study, worship and training for outreach ministries, for the transformation of families in Montclair and in its neighboring communities.

My Whole Life

“I was born to reflect the image of a God who is powerful enough to create my universe, attentive enough to hear my prayers and loving enough to be defined by self-sacrifice. I find my greatest fulfillment on a journey toward purpose and wholeness.”

’SPIRITUALITY>

Many have tried to determine what constitutes the essential human endeavor. For some it is to be known and for others it is to be loved. For many it is to make a lasting mark on the world so that the impact of one’s life continues to have significance.  more

’SERVICE>

The ultimate demonstration of love is to serve. Setting aside our own agendas, in service we live out our commitment to the well being of others, often to our own discomfort. more

’VITALITY>

When the Creator breathed the breath of life into the nostrils of Earth’s first parents the act of giving human life was the culmination of a larger scope of work. more

We are a church that seeks to emulate Jesus’ approach to soul winning by attending to peoples physical needs as well as their spiritual needs. We have operated a weekly soup kitchen/pantry for over 3 decades  and annually sponsor a health fair that serves the residents of Montclair and neighboring communities.  You may now have some insight into our local church personality and vision by what has been shared thus far, but we are part of a larger church family.

A Worldwide Church Family

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Adventist Church operates 173 hospitals and sanitariums and more than 7,500 schools around the world. The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) works within communities in more than 130 countries to provide community development and disaster relief.   The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to call all people to become disciples of Jesus Christ, to proclaim the everlasting gospel embraced by the three angels’ messages (Revelation 14:6-12), and to prepare the world for Christ’s soon return.

OUR METHOD

Guided by the Bible and the Holy Spirit, Seventh-day Adventists pursue this mission through Christ-like living, communicating, discipling, teaching, healing, and serving.

OUR VISION

In harmony with Bible revelation, Seventh-day Adventists see as the climax of God’s plan the restoration of all His creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness.

OUR BELIEFS

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him
